This Saturday evening AEW will present their second edition of Double or Nothing. Originally scheduled to be held in Las Vegas at the MGM grand, due to the covid-19 and the current situation the world finds itself in the event will be held at Jacksonville Jaguars stadium and the arena attacked Daily’s Place.
AEW World Championship Match
Jon Moxley vs Brodie Lee
I’m unsure if this will be the shows main event. If it is placed in the main event slot, I think it’s safe to say that Jon Moxley will go over clean and retain. But if we see the Stadium Stampede match in the main event, it wouldn’t surprise me to see The Dark Order become involved and maybe move the feud along to another match at some point on Dynamite. One thing for sure if Moxley will retain the championship.
Winner and Still AEW World Champion: Jon Moxley
Stadium Stampede Match
The Inner Circle v The Elite
Matt Hardy joins forces with members of The Elite to take on Chris Jerichos Inner Circle. On the Elite side we could see Hangman Page and Kenny Omega continue to show signs of tension. We have the possibility of Matt Hardy and The Elite maybe coming to blows or even Hardy becoming a member of the Elite full time. The match should be a fun brawl that will have some memorable moments. There are also reports that Nick Jackson was hurt on Dynamite this week, this could affect his involvement in the match but is due to compete.
I believe The Inner Circle will become victorious with tension in The Elite costing them the match. We could also see a set up for Omega and Page defending their titles against Le Sex Gods soon.
Winners: The Inner Circle
AEW TNT Championship Match
Cody v Lance Archer
The tournament finals to crown the AEW Championship will take place with Mike Tyson being on hand to present the winner of the match the new championship. With Archer having Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts in his corner it has been an interesting story on how we got to this match. It’s a tough match to call with Cody haven’t won a big match for a long time. Archer has been built well so it’s a tough one to call between two wrestlers who can’t afford to lose. I do think we will see Archer pick up the win to create history and continue the downward spiral of Cody before we see the story of his rise start. I do think we will see Archer receive a right hand for Tyson afterwords also.
Winner and New AEW TNT Champion: Lance Archer
Casino Ladder Match
Orange Cassidy vs Darby Allin vs Colt Cabana vs Rey Fenix vs Scorpio Sky vs Kip Sabian vs Frankie Kazarian vs Luchasaurus vs Mystery Opponent
All eyes will be on who is the mystery opponent but I don’t think we will see them win because who ever it is, they will not want to put him in the title picture to lose straight away. This match will set up a short title programme with the champion for dynamite in between pay per views and might even be the advertised main event of the first Dynamite in front of a normal crowd.
Looking at who is in the match and the fact that Moxley will retain, Darby Allin is a lead contender because he has had some good showing and attention on Dynamite recently. Rey Fenix is another who could pull of a victory for a short programme but expect a comedy spot with Orange Cassidy which will be highly entertaining.
Winner: Darby Allin
AEW Women’s Championship Match
No Disqualification Match
Nyla Rose vs Hikaru Shida
I don’t think Rose is ready to lose her championship yet and even with Shida being built up as a more than capable challenger I think she will fall short in this match. With the No DQ stipulation, Shida will run Rose close but Rose will be too strong and pick up the victory.
Winner and Still AEW Women’s Champion: Nyla Rose
MJF vs Jungle Boy
MJF will win this easily, Jungle Boy will put on a good comeback with a near fall or two but after dominating most of the match, MJF will also finish strongly before moving on to his next challenge.
Dustin Rhodes vs Shawn Spears
I think we will see Shawn Spears pick up a much needed win here over Rhodes. If Cody is to win the AEW TNT Championship, I can see Spears being a challenger for Cody over a short programme on Dynamite. In this case Spears would need the win to enhance his chances of gaining a title opportunity.
Winner: Shawn Spears
Looking at the card the show looks like it could be another cracker from All Elite Wrestling. I imagine having Brodie Lee in the championship match wasn’t the original plan but with the pandemic things have changed. We wouldn’t have the Stadium Stampede match either, this being said I’m looking forward to another great show.
